DUBLIN, Ireland – June 6, 2013 – Openet, a global leader of real-time transaction management software and services, today announced the availability of its Intelligent Network (IN) replacement solution. The new offering will allow operators to profit from the rise of high speed data by evolving legacy platforms to provide flexibility and real-time capabilities required by operators.
The speed and data-led services that advanced networks like LTE present are a challenge to legacy IN charging and billing infrastructures, originally designed for simple voice transactions. These systems are limited in their ability to provide the flexibility, real-time capability and support for rapid innovation that operators require in an increasingly data-centric, fast-paced world.
“Legacy systems are designed for yesterday's business models; their limitations directly affect operators’ ability to quickly and effectively deploy innovative and valuable services that engage customers,” said Openet marketing vice president Christopher Hoover. “To achieve strategic goals and to take advantage of growth opportunities, operators need flexible high performance infrastructure that meets the demands of a rapidly changing and unpredictable market landscape.”
Openet’s solution allows operators to monetize their data network by providing flexibility and real-time capability to:
- Prepare for a data centric world by replacing legacy IN platforms with Openet’s Evolved charging, a 3GPP compliant online charging system, to allow operators to prepare their network for key technology evolutions;
- Reduce costs and increase efficiency with its converged online charging system to identify and remove duplicate work on vertical environments;
- Introduce dynamic offers by empowering operators to quickly create, develop and present customized data packages to customers in real-time; and,
- Integrate with existing billing systems to provide real-time rated data transactions direct to the existing billing system for post-paid customers.
With the advent of LTE and desire for high speed data, it is crucial for operators to review current IN charging and billing infrastructures to further avoid investments in already costly platforms.
