TeleKnowledge and Openet Partner to MaxBill and Openet Telecom Partner to Address Needs of UMTS and GPRS Network Operators

octubre 31, 2000 - Openet

London, United Kingdom and Dublin, Ireland, October 31, 2000 - MaxBill, an innovative provider of customer-centric Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) systems for providers of usage-based and event-driven telecommunications services, and Openet Telecom, a leading provider of Convergent Mediation solutions and provisioning for the telecommunications networks of this and the next generation, have announced a joint integration and marketing alliance.

The two companies will deliver a truly convergent billing, customer care, and mediation solution for UMTS, GPRS, WAP, IP and broadband network operators as well as other communication service providers (CSPs) worldwide. The resulting solution will enable service providers to offer and bill for convergent services with sophisticated pricing plans, including volume and cross-service discounts.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will integrate the MaxBill CC&B system, which provides Internet-enabled customer care, order management, convergent rating and data warehousing functionality, with Openet Telecom's FusionWorksTM, an open-standards based, distributed mediation platform capable of providing customizable subscriber usage mediation, through an intelligent, multi-tiered rules-based engine (i.e Dynamic Business Engine) that facilitates the application of adaptable business scenarios to support a particular CSPs individual network deployment.

"The integration of Openet's FusionWorks™ mediation platform and the MaxBill CC&B system will create a truly convergent solution to support WAP, IP, m-commerce while delivering revenue and service assurance support," said Rick Henry, MaxBill's Manager of Business Solutions. "The alliance between Openet Telecom and MaxBill will generate real opportunities to develop successful implementations of convergent solutions for new CSPs, as well as traditional carriers facing the challenges posed by the 3G revolution. These solutions will allow all types of communication providers to offer the services that today's network subscribers are demanding, allowing CSPs both, to reduce the costs of becoming convergent and maximise revenues while deploying new value-added services," said Roger Davis, Openet Telecom's Vice-president of Marketing.
